I love scrapbooking because I
believe in preserving memories. I enjoy
making cards and sending them to folks (especially with my scraps of paper),
but I am obsessed with creating 3-D items from paper! (When I host retreats, there is always a fun
3-D item as one of our make and takes.)
Sometimes those 3-D items are clever gifts (like the tea box I showed
yesterday) and other times they are crafty creations used for home décor. It could be a wreath, a stamped candle, a
calendar, you name it.
A couple of weeks ago, I saw a
picture on Facebook ( I believe it was on CTMH Artwork) of a tissue box that had been covered… similar to the ones
grandma used to make back in the day with yarn and plastic canvas and had in the bathroom of
her home, but this one was made of paper!
(Why didn’t I think of that?!?!?!!!)
Well, I didn’t think of it, but
it did inspire me to create one for myself and the RV, so I thought I’d share what I came
up with so that maybe it would inspire you as well.
I used paper from this month’s
featured paper pack, Dreamin’ Big and some left over embellishments from the
collection. It is a simple design and
was just my first try (I made a second one I will show next month.) but I do
like how it turned out… and just one more way to play with paper!
What are some other things you
could cover with paper to create a fun 3-D item? I’d love to hear your ideas and see other 3-D
items (home décor or otherwise) we could create! Share… PLEASE!
Until next time, and more crafty
ideas,
Roberta
