First stop is Las Vegas.
Ride 2 Recovery's final Honor Ride of the season in on Saturday and Russell is riding in it once again. This is his 3rd year riding in this specific Honor Ride.
He has planned to ride the 40 mile course again this year. For those not familiar with the greater Las Vegas area, the event starts on the Strip... they actually close Las Vegas Blvd. on Saturday morning for the riders... and he will ride out to Red Rock State Park on the far west side of Clark County and back. (There is an 8 mile ride, where they cruise the strip and a 70 mile trek, where they ride through the Park, before heading back into town.)
There is a large contingency of riders from the Northern Nevada area going this year... 13 in total. Last year there were only 6, I believe. The group is growing and it is exciting to see more veterans participate and get involved in their recovery/healing through cycling.
If you would like to learn more about Ride 2 Recovery or the upcoming Crop in support of the Northern Nevada group, you can visit My Events Page to learn more.
Until next time, when we see you on the road...
