Let the creating begin!

Well, we have officially been living in Coco for a week now.  We are parked in an RV park in Reno for the time being, until we officially hit the road in November.  We are still getting settled and making adjustments as to where we store things for easy access, but we are excited to get the adventure started!

We even managed a quick overnight "glamping" trip this past weekend to Davis Creek in Washoe Valley with Coco to test the waters of dry camping.  It was so nice to drive up, push a few buttons and be ready to have fun with friends who joined us, instead of pitching a tent.

When we got back on Sunday, I even got in some MUCH NEEDED creative time for a couple of projects that I just hadn't had time to get to before we moved, but that I needed to get finished before Russell flew out yesterday to Michigan.

Today is my In-Laws 50th Wedding Anniversary.  Wow!  50 years.  Not many people can say that these days, but Dale and Kathleen can.  50 years, 3 boys, a couple of crazy daughter in laws (I'm not naming names), multiple moves across the country and still going strong after all this time.

I wanted to create something personal for them since I couldn't join in the fun... too much going on with getting ready for next week's retreat... so I took a picture from when they got married, as well as a recent picture taken only a few weeks ago (My brother in law, Ronnie and niece Maegan had to do this for me on the sly, but they did a great job!)  I created a framed page of "then and now" for them.  I love how it turned out.  Simple, but elegant and I think it will mean a lot to them, especially to Kathleen who has caught the card making bug.

To create the page, I used some leftover supplies I had from the Swan Lake Workshop Your Way kit (G1112) from Close to My Heart.  The paper, ribbon, the enamel gems and the "blessed" foil stickers, work so well together.  I especially love the pop of color from the Peacock colored card stock I used to mount the pictures. While the paper pack is meant for fall themed projects, it doesn't say "Fall" to me.

Thoughts?  Like it?  Love it?  Leave it?
Let me know!

Well until next time, keep on creating!

BIG UPDATE!

It comes with a heavy heart to announce I will no longer be maintaining my Blog.  It will not be deleted... at least for now; however, I wil...
