Thursday Therapy -- Flower Boxes

So this past week, Russell and I collaborated on a project for our house and I am SO EXCITED to be able to share it!

Our garage is NOT attached to our house.  We have a grass area in between the house and the garage, where over the summer we will be working on our outdoor living area.  While the garage is not attached to the house, we can see it from our back door and laundry room window.  For a while now, I've been wanting Russell to build a couple of flower boxes for the windows of the garage to "brighten up" the yard.

He completed building and painting them last week and got them hung.  They look great!

Then I got to take over, and I Chalked it Up!

I used a RETIRED transfer, Bloom where you are Planted, because it seemed appropriate for the flower boxes, even though you are unable to purchase it.  😢

So, I chalked these outside in the yard right where the flower boxes were hung, right on the boxes using some of my "mixed" color that I've personally created after marbling with many colors.  As you can tell, it is almost an olive color, which also seemed appropriate given that they are outside and will eventually be filled with flowers.

I did use a spray sealant to make the chalk permanent, given that they are outdoors in the elements, and will inevitably get wet, when we have weather or when watering the plants. (I use Krylon.)

As of now, I have't added any dirt to the planters or planted any seeds because our weather is still a little wacky, (It was 75 degrees on Monday and tried snowing on Tuesday.) and we will be gone on vacation in just a few weeks, so they won't get filled until we get back, as no one will be home to water while we are gone.

Now, I didn't work alone when Chalkin' it Up.  I had my Supervisor, Major, and he worked hard too, as you can tell.  😉

Inside, outside, you can Chalk it Up ANYWHERE!
Hopefully, this provided some chalking inspiration.

Until next time, and more Chalk Therapy,
Roberta

BIG UPDATE!

It comes with a heavy heart to announce I will no longer be maintaining my Blog.  It will not be deleted... at least for now; however, I wil...
