Dreaming of Decor!

We left Reno/Sparks a little over a week ago to get back to Powell to be here for the appraisal and inspection of our new home.  Both items have now been checked off our To-Do lists.  The appraisal happened last Tuesday, the day we arrived back in town, and the inspection happened on Saturday.   We have our report and now have entered into re-negotiations with the sellers on a couple of items which need addressing prior to closing.  Two of the biggest hurdles are done and done, although we do not know where we stand on the appraisal, as it hasn't been submitted yet.

So what does one do while waiting for a house to close in a new community?  Go to the County fair and dream of how you will decorate your new home when it officially becomes yours, of course!

Russell and I took an afternoon and spent time at the Park County Fair.  That was fun.  It's been a long time since I've been to a fair complete with livestock, exhibits, carnival rides and of course, carnival food.  (Major loved his snow-cone.)  They actually had both a wood working exhibit and a paper crafting exhibit that folks had entered handmade cards.  Both of us plan to enter next year in our respective categories.  To quote Russell, "I'm going to give them a run for their money next year, even if it is just for a ribbon."

In our down time, I've spent oodles of time on Pinterest the past few weeks gathering pins of ideas on how we want to decorate our "Country Cottage".  Every room has a board, and every board has multiple pins.  I even have a board for decorating the Craft Room.  I have BIG dreams for this room and cannot wait to get it set up and operating.  I am trying to come up with a catchy name for the new space... Craft Cave, Scrap Space, Paper Palace.  If you think of something clever, please share it with me!  I'd love to hear your suggestions!

Luckily, we do not need to paint or deal with any flooring prior to moving in.  The house is move-in ready, we just need to buy new living room furniture, a washer and dryer and get our stuff that we've had in storage from Reno to here.  We've begun looking for furniture which has been fun, but sitting in limbo waiting for the house to close is actually exhausting.

We've taken care of some personal business and gotten Russell enrolled with the VA here.  He already has his first appointment scheduled for Wednesday!  WOW!  Major now has a new vet, and has already been seen as well.  I've made some EXCELLENT business connections and I am looking forward to what the future holds for the Traveling Crafter... I haven't been this excited about my business in a LONG TIME!!!

Well, Pinterest is calling my name.

Until next time, and more decorating dilemmas,
Roberta

  1. Very happy to hear the excitement that you and Russell have for this move. Moving can be so stressful. Sounds as if your ups have far outweighed the bad. :) Wishing you many blessings on your new adventure.

  2. Nadine, thanks so much! Yes, moving can be stressful and we have had our share already, but the one blessing we've had in this... I don't have to pack! It's been done for a year! LOL!

BIG UPDATE!

It comes with a heavy heart to announce I will no longer be maintaining my Blog.  It will not be deleted... at least for now; however, I wil...
