They are everywhere you look with their little hatch-lings. I know that quail are the California State Bird, but I think they should have been for Nevada as well. In all my growing up in California, I NEVER once saw a quail. Yet, I see them everywhere in Nevada. They are so much fun to watch. At our old house we had a pair, who I named Fred and Wilma. No particular reason. It was just my name for them. They were pretty bold at times. Occasionally, Fred would come to the back door and look in.
