We have started loading her with all we plan to take with us... and it seems the more I take out to fill her empty spaces, the bigger the pile that is still in the house that needs to go out. I'm not sure how that works, but it does.
We ordered and received our new mattress... a modified California King. It had to be special ordered, but it is done and it is here. So comfy!
We've come up with some pretty clever storage solutions, which I will highlight another time and most importantly we have taken her for a few spins. Not too far, but enough to get used to driving her.
I'll be honest. I am still a bit nervous to drive something so big (and we haven't even begun to tow the car yet), but I haven't done so bad. Russell has experience driving trucks in the Army, so he is a pro, but the biggest vehicle I have ever driven prior to this is a 15 passenger van. I have towed things behind various cars in the past, but it just isn't the same as a 36' home on wheels.
Russell took me out in one of the industrial areas of Sparks last Saturday to let me get a feel for it and to get used to the turning radius. I parked in a parking lot and then dared myself to get on the freeway. There was a lot of positive self talk going on in my head, and some white knuckles, but I did great. For those familiar with the area, I drove out to USA Parkway and back and even parked Coco back in front of the house by myself... Not bad, if I do say so myself.
The dogs have both ridden in Coco and are getting used to it. We might have some issues when we officially hit the road, because they both like to be on the floor of the passenger seat... Two large dogs in such a small space is not going to work, but we will figure it out once their beds are inside.
Two more weeks until we are living in Coco full time and the adventure begins!
If you haven't already done so, be sure to follow our blog: The Traveling Crafter to see where we are, what we are doing, and what items we are crafting along the way and share the link with others, who want to participate in our happy travels.
Until next time and new adventures,
