I knew when we started on this journey that I wanted to keep
track of where we have gone, what we have done, where we have stayed, etc., so
that when the time came for me to put together the scrapbook album of our grand
adventure, I would be able to refer back to it and remember some of the details
that might get lost otherwise. So I put
together a travel journal of sorts to keep the memories fresh, and I thought I would share it with you.
My travel journal started with the Sea Glass Everyday Life Album. This album was available last fall in the
Holiday Expressions catalog/Idea Book, and is still available online. I love this color!
I added the My Crush Adventure Calls page inserts from the
Annual Inspirations catalog, as well as a few of the 6” x 8” page protectors
and 3” x 4” page protectors that fit in the album.

Throughout our travels I have kept a journal using the page
inserts… nothing specific, just noted where we were each day and what we did,
no matter if it was a day of rest at the RV, a travel day when we boondocked at
a truck stop or if we visited a specific site.
I am typically not someone who buys kitsch souvenirs from tourist
locations, but I do tend to collect brochures, maps, flyers, etc. from the
places we go, so throughout our travels, I have used one of the 12” x 12” Paper Envelopes to contain all this memorabilia.
My envelope is labeled Journey 1 and contains all the items I have
collected from when we set off on November 11 through now. This envelope, along with the journal pages,
and my photos when I get them printed next week when we get back to Reno will all
go into a single project box, which when I am ready to put the album together
will all be accessible and not strewn in various boxes, bins and the sort. Everything is organized and safe.
If you are embarking on any kind of journey – big or small –
why not start your own travel journal to keep track of your amazing adventures?! Those adventures are part of YOUR story and
deserve to be told, and if you don’t tell them, who will?
If you need help getting started, let me know. I am happy to help.
Until next time and more crafty adventures from somewhere in
the US,
Roberta
