One of those weeks

This week is going to be one of "those" weeks... You know the one.  The one where you are going in every which direction, but the one you want to go in.  It is one of those weeks when Russell has 5 doctors' appointments in 4 different towns, one of which is 4 hours away.  It is one of those weeks when I am reminded that I am EVER SO GRATEFUL to have my Chalk Couture business.

You see, I left my 9 to 5 job nearly 5 years ago to stay home with and care for Russell.  Not that he can't do most things for himself, he can and he does, but there are those times when his pain gets the best of him...  I was missing work so often for his medical appointments and such that I was often on leave without pay because I had exhausted my sick leave and vacation time to help him and be there when he needed me.  It got to the point that it was costing me more to go to work than it was to stay home, so together we made the decision for me not to return when he had yet another back surgery almost 5 years ago.

I was fortunate to already have a Direct Sales business to focus on when I left that job.  It allowed me the opportunity to care for Russell when he needed me.  It brought in extra income, mostly "fun money" that wouldn't have normally been in the budget.  Chalk Couture has now replaced and exceeded my previous Direct Sales business and we are blessed by it.  I can work when I want (or need to) from wherever I want... no questions asked.  I don't have to request time off.  I can work my business around my family, not my family around my business.  I am my own boss and my success relies on no one other than myself.

Being a Home Business Entrepreneur has its challenges, but it also has its rewards and I wouldn't change it for anything.  My Chalk Couture income last month alone, exceeded my previous Direct Sales business by 2.5 times the best month I ever had in my nearly 8 years with them.  I am on track to earn the Inaugural Incentive Trip, a cruise to the Western Caribbean.  I have met new friends and had new adventures because of this business that I wouldn't have had otherwise, and I wouldn't change a thing.  I'm not just saying that.

They say that timing is everything, and to some extent that is true.  It is also about having perseverance, taking risks and being willing to work hard to get to the prize.  It is about never giving up... no matter what.  It is about putting yourself out there, even when you don't want to.  It is about knowing the rewards will come, if you put in the work.  It is about building others up and watching them blossom.  It is an amazing opportunity, and again, one that I am grateful for.

Until next time, keep your eye on the prize,
Roberta

BIG UPDATE!

It comes with a heavy heart to announce I will no longer be maintaining my Blog.  It will not be deleted... at least for now; however, I wil...
