Creative Thursday: Christmas Ornaments

Every year for Christmas I like to make new ornaments for both our tree and to give as gifts to friends, family and neighbors, and 2017 was no exception.

This year I made 3 new types of ornaments.  One which had been paper crafted and the other two which I had chalked.

The first are the paper ornaments.  I made these using clear glass balls which had been filled with strips of paper (1/2" x 6"), which had been curled using a quilling tool.  These are fun and simple to create and require few tools and no glue, so they are perfect for kids to make on a cold, wet day while watching TV, or even while on a road trip if the strips are pre-cut.  (The amount of paper strips needed will vary, based on the size of the glass ball and how tight you curl your paper strips.  I recommend that you plan for 2-3 sheets per ornament to ensure you have enough.)

The next set of ornaments were also created on glass balls, but these were chalked.

These ornaments were created using the Caribbean colored Chalkology Paste and the Snowflake transfer.  I then filled them with some fake snow and topped off with some pretty shimmer ribbon.  These took less than 10 minutes to create start to finish and are super adorable!

Lastly, I created these adorable Nativity ornaments (a complete set of 12).  These were made using some pre-chalk painted wooden discs I purchased, the Nativity transfer and White Chalkology Paste.  From start to finish, the set of 12 were completed in about 15 minutes and match our rustic themed Christmas tree perfectly!

All of these ornaments were very simple to create for crafty and non-crafty people alike.  Minimal supplies were needed and are perfect for any age level.  If you would like to purchase any of the supplies needed for creating these crafty creations visit my websites @ www.roberta.closetomyheart.com or https://chalkitupwithroberta.chalkcouture.com/store#

Now, time to get your craft on and create!

Until next time, and more crafty creations,
Roberta
