For Close to My Heart: I completed layouts for 2 additional upcoming classes. They are for my Make it from the Heart Scrapbooking Workshops which will be held in December and January. In my Make it from the Heart Workshop each month, we create 6 pages from start to finish using one of the Fundamentals paper packs, its coordinating complements, as well as other Cricut cuts, embellishments, and techniques.
For the December and January classes, we will be using the Enchantment paper pack, which has rich, bold colors in Eggplant, Sapphire, Peacock, New England Ivy, Fern, Saffron, Goldrush, Poppy, Pomegranate, and Ruby. For these layouts, I went very basic to show folks that you don't need a lot of additional supplies or tools to create beautiful pages. The only added embellishments I used on the layouts were the All Star Complements, which contain coordinating stickers and chip board cut outs. This kept the pages simple enough to be used for ANY sport, team or working project you might have photos for. All that is needed is maybe a little bling and of course, the photos!
Of course, I had to finish up projects for my Chalk Couture business as well. Hopefully you saw the picture I posted on Facebook the other day for the Typewriter wall hanging I created. I was so happy with how it turned out I wanted to show it off right away. If you didn't see my post on Facebook, here it is for you to see.
The frame was an old window frame (about 3' x 3') we found in the garage when we moved in. Russell came to the recuse once again by putting in a chalkboard in the bottom and some chicken wire at the top. I chalked the typewriter using a mix of leftover scraped colors from all my fall projects that I had been saving for a project such as this, (Chocolate, Mocha, Lemon Yellow, Pumpkin, Plum, Evergreen -- just to name a few) but it is pretty close to the true Mocha color when all combined. I used White for the To Do List and the NOTES. The NOTES are actually inexpensive little chalkboard clips that I found at Hobby Lobby. The project has been sealed, so whoever purchases this beauty at the craft fair, will be able to write on the board with chalk and wipe it away without damaging the typewriter!
The other large project I finished turned out gorgeous!
Again, it was a window frame we found in the house that Russell helped me to modify -- Okay, he modified. I decorated. Either way -- team effort! This window frame is about 5' tall, but again, I think it is gorgeous and will look beautiful in someone's home!
For this project I used two transfers: The Mountains are Calling and Outdoors, which are both currently unavailable. However, the Chalkology Paste colors I used were: Mocha, Mint, Evergreen, Chocolate, Elephant, White and my own mix of browns, which included Mocha and Chocolate and my mash from the fall colors. While it was a large project, it was simple to do and took me less than an hour from start to finish. I love it!
Well, I hope these projects have inspired you to get your craft on, regardless of your medium.
Until next time, and more crafty creations,
Roberta
